Mixed feelings

I've had a pretty awesome weekend, yet I've never felt so lonely.

Last night I went to the dance which was sooo freaking fun! Did not expect it to be but it was a blast! I stayed the entire time. 10-1. Then we went for a night swim with some people, which was greaat.

I got home at like 4? Woke up to missed calls because some friends were trying to pick me up to go "slack lining". Threw on a swimsuit and rode my bike to meet up with them at Foodland. We piled in their cars and drove to PCC falls. (Same hike as last Saturday). They told us it was a "walk" to get to where we were going to slack line. Soo everyone was in flip flops. Hahah anyways, interesting hike. Not mentally prepared or sleep prepared.. Slack lining failed because there weren't enough sturdy trees. But that hike is beautiful and I loved it!

College is great. Hawaii is even better. But I am on my own and it makes me feel empty inside. I've been hanging out with different groups, meeting new people every time. I miss having best friends to always go back to. I miss my family and friends so much. Supposedly I'm getting a roommate next week, which may help! I know I'm truly never alone. I can always pray to my Heavenly Father. And my Savior is the one I can ALWAYS rely on. College is a learning experience for sure! And I am learning a great deal about myself.

Bloggin' hard.

Inspired by this cute girl. Taylor Frost and her blog

A. Age: 18
B. Bed size: wimpy twin, dorm bed (Luckily, I can sleep anywhere)
C. Chore that you hate: Does shaving my legs count as a chore? I loathe when I'm trying to organize and there's not a place for something. Stresses me out a bit!
D. Dogs: Amazing is an understatement regarding my Simbers I grew up with. I blogged about him here.
E. Essential start to your day: Water? If 8 hours+ sleep was included in my night, then I love working out in the morning.
F. Favorite color: turqoise, forever and always.
G. Gold or Silver: Silver

I. Instruments you play: Sadly none. I am GOING to learn to play the piano before I have kids. (It made me so happy when my mom played hymns sunday mornings)
J. Job title: None.. RIP Bahama bucks (Currently job hunting)
K. Kids: Have always loved them. If you know me at all, you know that much about me. Secretly, the thing I look forward to most in life is to be a mom.
L. Live: Laie, Hawaii
M. Mother’s name: Marilyn Turley Smartt
N. Nicknames: The people I'm closest to are allowed to call me kate. My friends call me katie, for funny, because they know it drives me up the wall. My mommy calls me katie babes and I secretly like it, shhh. Some of my best friends refer to me as nibbles.. and I respond...
O. Overnight hospital stays: Thyroidectomy
P. Pet peeves: When men cross their legs. Especially old men, but I still love my grandpa.
Q. Quote from a movie: The Blind Side (favorite)

W. What makes you run late: Sleep. I like sleeping
X. X-Rays you’ve had: Dental
Y. Yummy food that you make: I was very proud of my cinnamon rolls once.. And I love making pasta varieties. My bro hates my spinach lasagna because the meat "is the whole point". Sorry bug.
Z. Zoo animal: I did a report on giraffes in.. 2nd grade I believe? And have always liked them. But elephants are my true favorite. I think it's cause I always wanted to be my sister Camille when I was little and that was her favorite. WOW this post is full of my deepest darkest secrets. Don't worry, I'm my own person now and elephants have stuck. You can't even tell me they aren't adorable!

Hope that didn't bore you to death..
And I hope my children, grandchildren, etc. can feel like they now know me a little bit better.

Need some spice

Soooo it's like 7:30. I'm ahead in all of my classes, friends are all doing homework, and I am so extremely bored. I should make more friends, find a boy, or get a job. Or all of the above.

Guess I'll hit the gym?..

Chilllll

I'm in HAWAII. This is amazing.

Check out how freaking sketch this path is.. This was one of my first nights. We went on a night swim at Bikini Beach.

Went on a hike with Roxy and Chanel. May have fell into the stream 12 thousand times..It's fine. GORGEOUS hike. Loved it so much! Then we went swimming in this waterfall.

Sunday nights usually consist of a walk or bike ride to the temple or the beach. This was taken last night. Hailey, Chanel and I rode up to the temple and just chilled for like an hour and talked. Love this temple soo much.

Napped on the beach today after class. Yeahh I'm in Hawaii, this is real.

Dedication or stupidity?

So I was in the library, being a good little college student, and the fire alarm went off. Being trained to jump up and file out, I almost did just that but then I was hesitant when everyone else just stared around at each other and eventually went back to work. With the most obnoxious alarm still going off, by the way. I just laughed to myself and didn't want to join the other 2 out of the 100 that actually left. Haha it was so funny. I mean k yeah it ended up that there was no fire, but no one in there knew that. Not like high school where you run out the first second you get a chance to leave class. College is HARD core I guess? People dedicate for their studies.. And the alarm went off for a good 10 minutes in case you were wondering. Someone pulled it on "accident", or so they told us, and they had to wait for security. Yeah my ears are still ringing.

Safe and sound

Back to the HI LIFE. Oh it is gooood, very good to me.
Only one problem! I hung out with these two the day before I left and I'm too obsessed.

Hmmmkay my reesey girl has stolen my heart.

No point in torturing myself. But I am now settled and it feels greaat!

And dos:

Classes start tomorrow and surprisingly I don't have those first day jitters. It hasn't really hit me yet I guess. But I am so incredibly happy to have gotten here safe and sound and let the fun begin!

At times,

life can suck. Stay strong because the good times will come rolling in. You never know what someone else is going through. We all have our own trials in life. I know I have my personal trials that have made me who I am today and no one but Heavenly Father understands.

Also, RIP Quinn Shuler, you brought joy into so many lives, mine included. You have made me laugh SO many times starting in good ole elementary days on through high school. Every time I wear my onesie, I think of you in the monkey pjs. And member that one shirt you always told me I looked like a fair maiden, in your accent? Yeah I always think of you when I wear it. Oh and S.P., Nash is Ca$h, still our little secret;) I hope you are happier now. Know that you are loved by sooo many.

Learning to dance in the rain

Just got home from a greaat trip to Utah. I will always have a tender love for this homey state. My family visited yearly while growing up and it holds a place deep in my heart.

I got to see all the extended fam, my kiki's, and I had a grand time!

Now that I'm home, I leave in 4 days back to HI.
Let's just say I am a happy girl ready for a fresh start. New faces, more beaches, harder classes, and cute college boys. I am READY and going to live life to the fullest. Let the packing begin.
